The distribution characteristics of free amino acids and free proline were investigated in succulent xerophytes—Haloxylon ammodendron and Zygophyllum xanthoxylum, xerophytes—Artemisia sphaerocephala and Caragana korshinskii; and mesophytes Agriophyllum squarrosum and Corispermum mongolicum in Alxa Desert of China.
